MGM Signature Suites- Las Vegas

Don’t judge a book by its cover or a hotel by its name. After a quick last minute stay in Vegas, we cavalierly booked the MGM Signature Suites, thinking they were just that- suites of the MGM Hotel. While the rooms were large, which I guess qualifies them as suites, the place felt more like a timeshare grandma bought in the 1970’s. It seemed the perfect pied-a-terre to use if you told your friends you went to Vegas all the time, but never shared any photos.

In short, the place was tired. Oh, and not part of the MGM Hotel. The pros- it was inexpensive and quiet, probably because granny was napping.

A king bed was comfy enough, though unfortunately shared a wall with the toilet.

There was a sitting area with fabrics that you knew had seen some things. The spaciousness did come in handy for rearranging several weeks worth of luggage.

The Gentleman said he’d been missing cooking and got a kick out of the two burner stovetop. It was exceptionally strange to have this in the space without nary a glass, cup, or wine opener included.

No glassware in the mirrored wet bar either. There were two bottles of water on offer for $9 each, however.

The sizable bathroom with jacuzzi tub, shower, and dual sinks was nice. It could use a design refresh, and grout a redo, but the space was very functional.

Said toilet on the other side of the bed. The toilet room is always a smart hotel (and house) design, but its placement is crucial for a romantic retreat.

The property was more than tired, it was exhausted. While it has some decent bones, it could really use a makeover. In the meantime, don’t make our mistake and stay here thinking it is the MGM’s suites.
