Dining at Encore Country Pub: A Stratford Upon Avon Experience

After a long day of sightseeing in Stratford upon Avon, I selected the Encore country pub for the evening’s meal. Full pub on the ground floor, the top floor is more elegantly presented with an extensive menu to match. The people watching (80 year olds on a first date!) and service were both stellar and made the visit that much more enjoyable.

We started with beef croquetas, chock full of shredded beef, and grilled padron peppers. Surprising to find Spanish cuisine in a country pub in England, we had to give it a go and both were very nice.

The Gentleman selected roasted chicken for dinner and I went with the leek and chicken pie with fresh veg and chive mash. Again, both were very good, though we might try something different next round.

The waitress brought us this lovely dessert sampler to celebrate our honeymoon, so thoughtful.

And I had the toffee creme brulee which was not wonderful, but I had to try it.

The Encore brought our time in Stratford to a nice close. I’d return for another go, but probably would give somewhere else a go first. An encore, in eventuality.
