Checking into the Riu Westminster was a bit confusing. With a couple back-to-back reservations, the team seemed more than confused with the request to remain in the same room. Day two took additional phone calls on top of several emails and in person at check-in. Note to self, only stay here if your travel is very straightforward.

The hotel itself was just fine and central to Westminster, but in a neighborhood of condos and government buildings (of course) so there aren’t really restaurants, shops, or even a city grocery. The room was well situated with comfortable bed, desk nook, and sizable closet. The bath was a good layout with separate shower, sink, and toilet, but the doors were glass and did not totally shut. I’ll never understand why hotels don’t optimize bathrooms for a hint of privacy, just be aware if you’re in it for the romance.
