A forty-five minute stroll along the coast and boardwalk brings a Malaga-goer to Playa Pedregeljo. A lively fishing village along a rocky coastline hosted plenty of beach front restaurants and not a slice of shade in sight. So after a few hours of ocean swimming, it was time for lunch at Gastrobar Sabores y Sensaciones.
Of course there would be a platter of ham (and manchego! and blue!) for good measure.

We followed it with an octopus to share and thank goodness we did, because this guy was massive. Grilled perfectly, situated on a bed of sweet potato mash, and served with the local pico de gallo they love so much, this was exactly the kind of meal we’d been after for days.

This restaurant was a great find as it was open at 12:30 when most were still shut for brekky or whatnot. It probably means it’s a right tourist trap, but if you’re enjoying yourself, does it really matter?
