Bottega Caruso Margate

My sweet husband surprised me with a night on the coast on a drive back to mainland Europe this summer and brought me to tears finding a local restaurant in my family name.

Both a wine shop, billed “deli,” I was expecting a charcuterie board to tide us over, but a glass of lovely dry Franciacorta would have to do as I cleaned up on family branded merchandise.

For dinner, the restaurant was booked, but we managed an early table outside and enjoyed a whipped ricotta to start and a sausage pasta for both of us.

A lovely meal with a glass or robust red, and a bag full of sauce from Campagna made for a sentimentally surprised meal on the beach.
