To ring in a special celebration, it seemed right to do so in our new city of Hannover. The Husband chose The Wild Duck for the occasion. Heralded in The Michelin Guide for its Vietnamese flair to German ingredients, I was excited to try some new flavors. We selected the tasting menu which included a “Wild Duck,” a fun tie to the namesake of the restaurant. With wine pairings, we were at the restaurant for five hours! There were only five tables that were full, of the eight available, and everyone seemed to be on the same schedule of serving with just two gentleman serving, sommeliering, and handling it all. Wow, longest meal ever! The veal was a standout for me as was the creativity in the dishes was wonderful.
It was really a special meal, and it certainly doesn’t feel like you’re in Hannover, so if you’re looking for a special night, The Wild Duck could be it even if you need shots of espresso in between courses!
