Moving days are never fun, especially when they involve loading a truck in full (not one box went on the truck the day prior!), cleaning as the contents left, checking out of a very stressful housing situation, and finally capping it off with an international drive (complete with three phone calls from German customs!) with a car full of our most valuable possessions. Phew. Exhaustion hit, but we found the strength to rally for a late dinner around the corner from our hotel. Restaurant Aspera was very busy for a late midweek meal, probably because they feed their patrons so exceptionally well.
We started with a mixed mezze of hot and cold. The dips were delicious, and the new flavors already breathed new life into our subdue and bored Switzerland-ized palates.

I enjoyed grilled lamb over a bed of smoked eggplant. Wow, it was rich, but luckily The Husband gave me some help.

He opted for the mixed grill, which apparently was also very nice. We both agreed, this was far too much food, but our car sandwich was literally a day ago!

In addition to a massive plate of meat, The Husband’s meal also came with a salad, spicy dip, and a bit of Kisir.

I’d definitely recommend Aspera if you’re in the central Hannover neighborhood. If you can swing it, make sure to take a shower after your moving day, (along with book a table), but neither are absolutely essential for a lovely evening.
