Ahead of a special birthday, we took it upon ourselves to test drive the restaurant, Al Profeta. Tucked away on a very quiet side street on Dorsoduro, this place is always packed and reservations are essential.
I talked the Gentleman into starting with pizza bread as we’d walked 30K steps that day. He hungrily agreed and we were both blown away at the stuffed doughy, chewy goodness. With four flavors of stuffing to choose from, you should just order all of them and bring a few more friends.

For our mains, the Gentleman enjoyed a duck rago with a blueberry sauce- quite the combo! While I devoured this gorgeous pistachio cream paccheri with shrimp. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, offering an excellent wine education and recommendation for the indulgent meal.

The following day, we decided that we enjoyed the meal so much, we should repeat it! And we did the exact same dishes, however elected to try another flavor of the pizza bread, which was only mildly less delicious than the first night’s.

Duck ragout looking elegant as ever.

Pistachio paccheri was the perfect find for my pistachio themed year.

If you’re staying on Dosoduro, don’t let Al Profeta slip away from your itinerary!
