La Lanterne- Paris

on

After a very long, but fun, hosting Christmas in the UK, we opted to jump on the Eurostar and spend a few days in Paris decompressing. We chose the lovely hotel La Latern for the job as it had an extensive looking spa with access that came with our room. The centrally located Latin Quarter hotel was still feeling festive when we arrived.

The lobby featured lots of fun objets including these Picasso-inspired plates. They were a good distraction from the elevator being broken- not ideal with 3 50+ pound cases!

A small interior garden could be accessed from the lobby or directly by a handful of rooms.

The spa was busy as one might expect on a chilly December afternoon when most of the world took a pause. The pool was nice, but not all jets worked.

The room was a decent size for Paris, which is to mean small, but an entryway that held some of the working parts like bath and coffee did a good job in making it feel larger.

These loving swans amusingly had eyeballs!

A small closet featured robes and slippers for the spa.

The view from the room was perfectly Parisian.

Across the street, you could get a glimpse at daily Parisian life- a voyeur’s paradise! Luckily for too much excitement, the police station was next door.

The bathroom was well divided with sink and shower in one room and a seperate toilet room.

The hotel was well cleaned and centrally located making for a perfectly pleasant stay in Paris, save for the broken elevator and windy staircase. Luckily, we had help with our unusually massive bags. Next door is a Mexican wrestling themed bar that I regret not visiting on the first night– maybe next time!
