The gentleman took a promotion, so I took us away for the weekend. Nothing too far, just far enough away to find a Michelin starred meal and feel like we were on hols- which effectively we were. The weekend was set around a resto rez, and while I waffled on hotels, I ultimately settled on the Hotel Bern in the city center.

The cupboards housed the usual suspects and were nice to have before a night out and of course again in the morning.

The bath was small but manageable with cruise ship style shower doors and Ritual amenities.

While the rest of the subterranean room was rather spacious with plenty of area to spread out comfortably.

Given the basement level accommodation, the view was less than desirable.

But the rooftop bar on a gorgeous late summer afternoon made up for it.

If you can snag a deal on Hotel Bern, you really can’t beat the location’s proximity to both the train station and main town center.
