La Ferme du Chateau, Our Last Night in Switzerland

Well, five and a half years in Switzerland went by in a flash! Ending the stint in a town where there “seems” to be (actually are) more cows than people, left us with literally one choice for our last night in town, La Ferme du Chateau. Luckily, the hotel was gorgeous and well situated in the town center- too bad it was on a Monday when nearly all restaurants were closed. La Ferme is privately owned by the owner of the chateau just above it. File this for sentences you only type in Switzerland.

We enjoyed a room with a terrace that looked up to the chateau and despite the evening’s rainy weather, we toasted to a successful chapter and onto the next one. (Today’s chapter was scrubbing the house amongst the movers). The hotel is a gorgeous stone relic that somehow allows you to feel its age, yet is immaculately clean, driven further by the fresh, modern furnishings. The honesty bar was a nice touch and breakfast the next morning was more than generous, perfect fuel to finish our move.
