Discover St. Michael’s Manor in St. Alban’s: A Hidden Gem in the UK

On our return home, the Gentleman decided to introduce me to a new town and I am so glad he did as St. Alban’s might be one of my favorite UK town’s I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. A stunning cathedral, darling inn, the oldest pub (one of four) in the UK, and a bustling town center, all outfitted in Tudor architecture, what’s not to love?

Our quick overnight brought us to St. Michael’s Manor which was excellently located just far away from it all, but a 10 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the main area, yet with it’s own exceptionally charming pubs. Oh, and it was on the cutest lake hosting the most darling wedding. I was hooked. Our room, the “Maple,” was meant to be quiet as the hotel had forewarned of a wedding. I assume it was quiet as we were out and about for the evening. We heard nothing other than the very fun DJ playing apero hour just below. The room was charming and cozy. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
