Gandarias- San Sebastian

Out to share a giant steak on our last night, we headed to a resto that seemed busy, but turns out it was winding down from VERY late lunches. Oh la la. So Spanish! Lucky for us, we stumbled into Gandarias across the street for a nibble. Thinking we would just have a plate and a drink, the food was so nice that we just kept ordering…and ordering…. Standing at the bar, somehow you kind of don’t realize how many delectable nibbles you’re enjoying. Ah well, it was delicious!

First up was the prawn and scallop skewer. A little undercooked for me, but nice flavor and we were still hungry for more.

We shared a mini burger which was nice and also cooked extremely rare.

The star of the show was the beef bites with pickled peppers and flaky salt. Wow, oh wow. This was that Basque steak we were seeking. Naturally, we ordered two more.

To round things out, the Gentleman enjoyed the mushroom risotto and I had a gorgeously soft, yet pan fried artichoke.

Gandarias was such a fun surprise for an early evening tapas smorgasbord. I know we’ll return next trip!
