Napoli on the Road- Chiswick

When you’re through London a lot, like very often a lot, and learn that the best pizza place in Europe (outside of Italy) is in the city… well, first you think, Brexit be damned! Then you think, we MUST go there. We opted for the Chiswick location and were glad we had a reservation. The resto is small. Really small. And there was quite a line outside for takeaway pizza. The ‘bar’ is a tiny galley kitchen against one wall. Servers are friendly, but ogling the pizzas is even nicer.

Without further ado.

I tried the pesto which (was super oily) and also came with a lard-y ham, pine nuts, and a bit of lemon zest. Not normally my profile, but I wanted to try something unique and one of their signatures. The Gentleman went for a classic sausage. Both were nice, but I might think he won this one.

Was it the best in Europe (in the UK)? REALLY hard to say, especially with my strange order. Either way, it was delicious. I think our local in Switzerland is quite good, but this crust was so much lighter and wonderful, it really did put that one to shame.

Lucky for us, on the night of our visit the head chef, Michele Pascarella, was at the Chiswick outpost that evening and made our pizzas. He was a very good sport and let us snap a few cheesy (pun intended) ones.
