Years ago, I read about Hotel Tipografia in Porto and how it was one of the best values in boutique hotels in all of Europe. Naturally, I had to have a stay, because who doesn’t love a deal. Sadly, said stay was cancelled thanks to Covid. Four years, later, I found myself booking another trip back to Porto, but that prices had increased. I stayed at the sister property, Casa do Conto, that luckily came with Tipografia’s pool access. After spending a fun afternoon exploring the property and indulging in the pool, I would book this hotel next visit in a heartbeat.
The front desk attendant was kind and simply said ‘have fun exploring.’ How could you not with an entrance like this?

The salons leading the way to the pool and bar were a mish mash of styles that somehow just worked.

The bar, Hi-fun, was as cool as it was pun-y. There is space for live music and a dj, but it was quiet on a Sunday afternoon.

The outside space featured different seating areas amongst lush plants.

The plunge pool was perfect to beat the midday heat. Couples took turns lazily swimming and reading in the tranquil water that got a bit chilly once the sun moved around the yard.

A gorgeous space that felt really special amongst the many residential buildings of the quiet neighborhood, I’d definitely look forward to another Tipografia visit or stay.
