After a gin distillery tour an tasting (yikes!) we took a long stroll down the street back towards the city center vowing that we’d do a “tapas crawl” along the way. A plate at a handful of places and call it a dinner. Our first stop happened to be Collonut, seemingly a well-frequented locals spot on a busy Friday evening. After the first plate, our plans changed rather quickly into three plates and boom we had an inexpensive and very fun dinner in no time.
The plate that shaped the evening was the house special, artichokes with bacon, a runny egg, atop a bed of flavorful romanesco sauce. Not your standard tapas bar tapa, we were delighted and vowed to try a few others.

The croquettas were so delicious that we failed to get a photo…which of course lead to Iberico ham and tomato bread.

To see a totally new dessert is also rather exciting, so when my eye caught the blue cheese cheesecake, I knew we’d have to try it. The piece was absolutely massive and probably better shared with four friends rather than two. It tasted exactly as it sounded- blue cheese and a bunch of cream cheese baked a mile high. While enjoyable, it was good for about three bites. It needed a fruit and cracker componate to accompany. Ok, maybe I just needed a cheese plate.

Collonut was a lucky find and lucky for your there appear to be several locations throughout the city. So if it’s quick service and good food that’s slightly different from other tapas bars that you’re after, this is a great option.
