Top London pub recon had me scouting a new neighborhood in the proximity of The Hero, more on that later, in Maide Vale. The neighborhood was fairly quiet, meandering along a London canal. The hotel felt like a real diamond in the rough, not too far from Paddington and therefore Heathrow. Better yet, it featured a lovely spa, gym, delicious breakfast, screening room, and recording studio, because when in Maide Vale, I guess.
All of the rooms are studios and can be rented for the month, perfect for the business types. Ours was an accessible studio, spacious, but with a standard double bed.

The kitchen featured a fridge, stocked with oat milk, coffee apparati, small burners, and really everything you’d need if staying longer than a night or two.

The room has a small table next to a large mirror, perfect for hair and makeup, which is necessary as the accessible bathroom has no space our countertops.

The view of our room overlooked a courtyard ahead of the canal below. The window opened with a metal design to block pigeons, but allowed the cool air to flow in overnight.

With as expensive as London hotels can be, I’m intrigued with the Mason and Fifth chain which is dotted around the perimeter around central London. I’d certainly try the new, fresh chain again, but skip the accessible room, even for the size.
