Beckett Locke: A Disappointing Hotel Experience in Dublin

After spending many a decent work trip (with a little fun attached) at the Eden Locke in Edinburgh, we opted to try Beckett Locke in Dublin. The main reason was price. The second reason was that it had a washing machine and would be helpful in the middle of a long trip for The Gentleman. While it delivered quite literally a crash pad (with the washer), it delivered little else. After wasting our time with an online check-in, the room key machine didn’t work and negated the whole process. We joined the queue of little Yachty concert goers seemingly using the hotel for a crash pad for the night. Similarly, there was no parking and the lot next door was full thanks to aforementioned concert. The fridge held dirty water bottles and there were no amenities in the room, like soap, etc., the exact reason we booked it in the first place. The room was large but empty. There was no housekeeping, unless requested and that was only allowed once per week. The coffee bar staff were haggard and let you know and the giant bar was not in service. Overall, it seemed more like a dirty student union than decent hotel option. Stay away.
