If you tire of the upscale just fine, but not great food of NOR Beach House, you can head next door to Meltemi for a more traditional Greek food experience. Also renting chairs and umbrellas, and with plenty of shaded terrace space and an extensive menu, there’s definitely a classic Greek salad in store for you.

The tzatziki was also good, not too garlicky, and the octopus was the best we had on the island.

The grilled halloumi added just the right amount of hot food to the lunch table.

For all of this, a half carafe of wine, and a giant beer, 50 EUR. A good value considering the number of vibey beach clubs flanking the place. It’s nice to have a taste of normal amongst the chaos of the busy Rhodian beach.
