The ristorante and pizzeria, Emma, was just around the corner from our hotel in Rome. With accolades from the NY Times among others, as one of the best restaurants for pizza in the city, we had to give it a try after a long morning of Vatican touring.
Everyone at the table opted for pizza aside from the Gentleman who went for the massive calzone, also deemed delicious. The pizza crust was quite thin, crackery in the middle and slightly chewier in the crust. While generally I prefer a super doughy, air-pocket filled crust to smear around in some chili oil, this was also a nice change. The lighter size meant that we could finish our pizzas and didn’t necessarily feel like a nap immediately afterward.

Emma is an easy choice with quite the extensive menu if you’re in the neighborhood. Is it worth seeking out completely, I would suggest this is still out for debate, but it was a very nice lunch.
