Hotel Miramar- Malaga

For a truly special occasion, it was beach front or bust. I need something easily accessible from the airport with a few good restaurants nearby. Malaga’s grand Hotel Miramar it would have to be. And just look at the place; it’s spectacular.

The lobby has a Moorish lean to it, which is something new to me and only makes me wish to explore this part of the world further.

Colorful details abounded the lobby that we enjoyed lounging in as we sipped the complimentary welcome cava.

The theme continued into the room which was well appointed and extremely clean thanks to a great team and turn down service.

I was exceptionally interested in the bedside lighting that I decided would be perfect on a new nonexistent terrace that we were trying to sort, unsuccessfully so far. I think these could safely be called bed earrings.

The bath was another dream in marble and white with a separate shower and tub scenario. Great lighting for makeup and ample counter and drawer space for two. Best of all, a real door to keep the mystery alive. I will never understand the sliding hotel door trends.

While the tub looked inviting and it was for an afternoon… it managed to flood the bathroom as somehow it made water back up through the shower! This was clearly a marking of an old building and the housekeeping staff were great as usual, but really, I just didn’t want to think through this snafu too hard.

His and her closets, with his featuring a safe were a dream come true.

The mini bar was stocked with anything you could want, and nothing we needed.

The desk area also went largely unused aside from a staging area for cava and jambon, but it was nice to have the option.

The rooftop bar made for a lively evening and a tranquil apero- one must love the best of both worlds as lover of rooftop bars. It was easy to take in the beautiful pool and beach from this birdseye vantage point.

Cheers to an absolutely divine long weekend. Five star in every way, I’d gladly return to Hotel Miramar anytime they’d have me.
